The Matrice 400 is DJI's most capable enterprise platform to date, combining extended endurance, high-payload versatility, and sensing technology borrowed from autonomous vehicle development. For surveying and inspection teams, it closes the gap between drone data collection and crewed aircraft operations.

Four gimbal connectors support simultaneous multi-payload configurations. Integrated RTK positions the aircraft to 1 cm accuracy without a ground control point network. And the omnidirectional sensing suite detects power lines at 35 m range, enabling safe low-altitude corridor operations.

Power Line Inspection

Automated corridor inspection of transmission and distribution lines using the Zenmuse L3 with real-time obstacle bypass — maintaining safe separation from 12 mm wires at up to 25 m/s.

TRIPLE-LAYER OBSTACLE SENSING ----

Power-Line-Level Obstacle Avoidance

The Matrice 400 fuses three independent sensing technologies to detect and avoid obstacles that would defeat any single-sensor system — including 12 mm distribution lines at speed.

Rotating LiDAR + Upper LiDAR
Horizontal rotating LiDAR continuously scans 360° for terrain and vertical obstacles. A separate upward-facing LiDAR covers the overhead plane — critical near powerlines and bridges.
 
6-Direction mmWave Radar
All-weather penetration detects 12 mm distribution lines at 36 m and 21.6 mm main lines at 50 m through rain, fog, and snow — enabling obstacle avoidance at up to 25 m/s.
 
Full-Color Fisheye Vision Sensors
Four omnidirectional surround-view cameras provide rich colour, shape, and texture data across the entire flight sphere for comprehensive flight-assist display and low-light awareness.
